Eudunda Area School Work/Life Experience

Year 10 students from Eudunda Area School are currently gaining valuable work and life experience through a fantastic initiative being run through the school.

The students and a group of teachers stay at the Adelaide Central YHA Backpackers Hostel in the middle of the city where they can socialise with travellers from around Australia and the world while they get work experience in Adelaide businesses.  The year 10 students need to negotiate public transport to get to their jobs for the week and try out new activities like ice skating for the first time in their “after work” time.

Teachers Adam Stribley and Chloe Papavasiliou say the program, which has been running for 5 years at Eudunda Area School gives students invaluable life and work experience whilst fulfilling SACE assessment criteria for the Personal Learning Plan curriculum subject.
“This week in the city also gives the students a great reference point for resumes when they start looking for employment in the future.” Mr Stribley said.

Not-for-profit accommodation provider Adelaide Central YHA accommodates schools, sporting groups, festival goers and footy fans from regional South Australia throughout the year and tell us that the new Adelaide Oval has attracted alot of regional SA visitors which adds to the great mix of guests and energy of the place and are looking forward to the upcoming showdown for a weekend of footy buzz.
