Burra & Districts Open Gardens

October 4th & 5th

Burra and Districts Open Gardens is an annual event held on the long weekend 4 and 5 October. It is Goyder’s traditional welcome to the warmer weather.

Started to give our local gardeners the chance to show the results of their hard work and to inspire others to do the same, it is a community event with a difference – each gardener chooses their own charity as the recipient of visitor donations.

Gardens reflect the ideas and concepts of their owners with one thing in common – they are the interesting and beautiful results of a gardener’s relationship with nature. Gardens can be large, small (or very small), cottage, native, or “walk by”.

If you are interested in entering your garden in this year’s Open Gardens, register your name and contact details on the list in the Burra Visitor Information Centre for one or both days, or by ringing Helen Carmody on 0427 267 766. And if this year doesn’t suit, keep it in mind for the same time next year.
